Spectacle

There was once a great play
Quite a satire on its own way

A performance staged with no crowd
Solely believed by his puppet's love

Such show played in masked face
Fun and make believe is his game

Unspoken lines or welcoming deceit
Apprehension and arrogance compete

Tragedy unfolds from naive lies
Hearts twice removed from the marionette and puppeteer's lives
