The Begining [ranting again]

by Kyle Sacha   Oct 14, 2007

The first time i saw you
It was cold
The snow should have been falling that night
Your sleeveless shirt showed me you were different
Laughing with friends
Yelling at the football players on the field
(Which later I found you wanted to be on there with them)

You asked for my name
I hesitated knowing you'd laugh
You made a joke - boys name
Original I said and laughed with confidence
Getting colder

"Aren't you cold?"
no
"You're crazy!"
yeah
were your answers to the questions people asked
noticing your lack of sleeves

Silently I watched you
Not noticing your clothes
but your eyes
they seemed different
like a child's
so curious, so ready and willing to live

"you cannot fall in love with this boy"
i told myself
remembering my last heartbreak
You look at me again as you sit on the bleachers
and notice possibly something too?

The next month
You're on my bus
In my face again
(That's just how your personality was)
Whatever
Pay you no attention
but my head kept saying
"you cannot fall in love with this boy"

The next month my best friend starts talking about you
"you guys talk?" "is he nice?" "what do you know about him?"
i surprise myself with these questions
i didn't know i even cared

one weekend
we go to his house
dancing on the way
We hit it off

February came around
turn-a-bout/Sadie Hawkins
girls ask guys
i ask you.
your answer: yes

the night before the dance
the three of us are in your room
watching Just Friends
for the millionth time
quoting and laughing

my best friend has to leave- band concert
we're left alone
i shiver and you ask if I'm cold
you pull out a hoodie and hand it to me
"come here of your cold"
you hold me in your arms
"you cannot fall in love with this boy" my head screams in anger
my heart pounds
and i realize we're not Just Friends anymore

The next night we go to the dance
your brothers car
dancing and singing to Make it Rain
my best friend and i make a bet
"he wont kiss you tonight, it won't happen"
"well i think he will-$10 dollars says he will" knowing he wont
i made $10 that night

the kiss was perfect
the music playing: "Don't Matter"
it was just us on the dance floor
with hundreds of people not seeming to be there
i was falling in love
you said "you know you like someone when you want to slow down time to be with them"

i hate that now
because now i want to slow down time to be with you
but now it's over

and we're not "Just Friends"
and everything else just "Don't Matter"
I miss you
and i hate it
i wish he still had what we had

i just had to rant today.i don't care if it's good, i just had to write it
