Lost foundation

by just here   Oct 16, 2007

The escape. emergency exit finally found as the building burns to ashes. leaving the foundation bare. revealing the sole ground that kept it standing for so long. suddenly fallen becomes the material inside. foundation left to stand or die bellow the dark rebel. survive the winter nights without a cover to stay warm and the summer without cool shade. every memory once built has begun to fade. time has yet to stop. the flames in that rebel fight to burn. the buckling of every wall. the fall. the remembered the forgotten. the small the big. the close the far. so long gone. blown away by a winters icy breath. foundation only left to trample upon. ashes left to remember you by. memories left to forget. all we have to hold onto. all we can firmly stand upon. the only bit of foundation we've built. leads you to the only exit left. down the isle to your right. a bright sign with holding the magic answer.when all along its been imbedded in these walls. if only they could talk. whisper sweet nothings from the past. stop you on this forsaken path. as you walk out that door. leaving this foundation. i've taken so long to build. only for you. to keep you strong. catch you without knowing you had fallen. into my foundation. ashes to dust everything built now lost. if only these walls could talk. remind you of the stories and memories we made. good times we had and times i ran from dad. if only walls could talk. bring a halt to your final walk. leaves turn colors and emotions run gray. what was once yesterday is forgotten in the sudden importance of today. the timeliness of our love has been out grown the ticks of the clock keeping a steady beat. the walls crumble crushing us beneath. the foundation too begins to wither away. what was yesterday no longer stands today. all is left for the lonely gather what you can find. seek comfort in the tattered picture frame she left behind. one moment you've finally stopped time. the right turn down memory lane. ashes to dust all you've found is a silly old picture frame. seek the way out. down the isle to your left. exit for this foundation has nothing left. find the escape.
