Autumn Storm

by x Mo x   Oct 17, 2007

A cold wind blows the leaves around.
Insects and animals find shelter on the ground.
Silent clouds cover the blue skies.
Calm silence rings then soon dies.
A rumble of thunder, a flash of light.
Rain soon pours, soaking everything in sight.
A soft patter of water on the window
Combines with the light, to create a show.
Rivers of runoff roll down each street.
Steam rising from the ground cause by October heat.
Crisp, fresh, clean, wet,
Stormy scents are left to set.
Dust left from the summer sun
Is washed away. The storm is now done.
