My Dim Light

by Rheingold   Oct 18, 2007

I doubt I'll ever get my point across
You don't even see all that you have lost
The one thing you've lost that's gone forever
Is wasted time that sadly you'll never

Never be able to retrieve
Now add more time on to grieve
So much time wasted on him
You've an old light that's still dim

The light that's been dim for a long long time
Please take what's dim and allow it to shine
Hopefully you'll take what I say to heart
One story's ending means a new one starts

Let me help you write it out
To you I would never shout
I'd make your smile sincere
And rid you of all those fears

To think an angel like you would endure
Pain and heartache all the while unsure
Was your heart with him or in my dim light?
I only pray you left my light in sight

We know each other so well
There's nothing I would not tell
I've told you stuff no one knows
Around you my dim light glows

I'd give anything to see you happy
See you happy whilst staring back at me
Staring in my eyes to see that I'm true
To see that you're for me and I'm for you

I pray you will take my light
To brighten up all your nights
You are all I would cherish
Or will my light just perish
