Opera of Sorrow

Opera of Sorrow
By My Decadent

The sudden high notes struck us, leaving us such in awe,
As she played the piano with perfection, without mortal flaw;
It was as if crystals shattered around us, breaking silence,
Alluring us and grabbing us with her mesmerizing brilliance.

A violin was played so mournful that it filled our eyes with tears,
And out of nowhere this ghastly figure suddenly appears -
A voice... calling for me... entangling itself with my thoughts,
Dissecting my feelings and prying in my most hidden plots.

This amazing voice so divine, reached deep within our hearts,
Reminding us of our losses, our goodbyes and our departs;
This graceful woman sung with such powerful emotion,
Feeling every note, drowned into the lyrical perdition...

The piano became faint like a swan song dimming before death,
Like the cry of a fallen angel catching his last breath;
Violins and cellos shed notes of endless sorrow
Reminding of the past, the present, the day of tomorrow...

Silence. A pause we all yearned for - a break from this pain,
A moment of reflection underneath the gentle pouring of rain;
You could see the silent audience's heads bent down,
Drowned into emotions encased into a frail frown.

The feeling of closure, of an undesirable ending,
Veiled us as the soprano left the stage, fading
Into the dark... but her voice still haunted us within,
Still reminding of the affliction inflicted by our ever sin.
