Scattered Pieces Of You

by Elizabeth Baker   Oct 20, 2007

You stare at me with blood shot eyes
As your wrists are crying out
I scream to you my last lies
And I try to figure out
As I look around at all the scattered pieces of you
I try to make sense of why it's you I always lose
I fall to my knees and take your cold hands in mine
I whisper to you one last time
Tears of pain and guilt fill my eyes
And I throw my head back to the skies
I cry out until my voice is gone
And even then, I continue on
I can't take this guilt I carry
I hate it's you I ave to bury
I look down at your ghostly face
And I pull you into an embrace
I keep hoping this nightmare will soon be over
Knowing it won't ever be over
I lay you upon the ground
One last time I look around
I lay down beside you
Hoping my screams will guide you
I take your hand in mine
And I close my eyes one last time
