Togetherness Smiles

by Laura Lamarca   Oct 21, 2007

Miles can't erase smiles
or feelings felt -
echoed emotions etched
in time,

nor can words slurred
before slumber's peace,
find release to ears, unheard.

So softly sigh in sweet
lullabies, whispering love
in my sleeping sight, to touch
adoring heart,

like a torch in the dark,
holding me and
guiding me home.

Through dreams you
sing such darling delight
to keep me near till
early light,
my strength, my pride
in safety's stride, in tensile
and tender embrace.

Faces pressed beneath
closed lids and kisses -

caressed togetherness,

till morning dawns in smiles
and yawns...

as love grows
to conquer miles.
