Happily Never After

by oddi tea   Oct 27, 2007

Quietly she sat
Crying all alone
Not trying to remember
That call on the phone

It all started out
When he called
When she heard the news
She nearly bawled

He asked her out
With humility and grace
She forever wanted
To look in his beautiful face

She saw sincerity
The first of the dates
But later on
It was all just a race

"Who could go farther
And faster by far
Who could do it
Right in the car"

"Cant let them know
The rules of the game
Because that's just too easy
It will put you to shame"

"The prize is simple
But comes with care
You'd better win
'cuz I'm not gonna share!"

So he led me
To the end of the road
Undressed me silently
His intensions showed

She figured it out
And ran in tears
All her worries
Now turned to tears

Now it just proves
That all those games and laughter
Have lost that girl's
Happily ever after
