I only Knew You For A Little While...

by Rita Virtanen   Nov 9, 2007

Only knew you for a little while,
I looked at you,
You looked at me,
We shared a little smile.

Oh, How I admired you,
I finally came and to talked to you,
And for my big surprise,
You told me that you liked me too.

My heart did a 180,
My stomach was in knots,
But then the girl who seemed a bit shady,
Came in and called the shots,

I laughed at her as me and him, were holding hands and talked,
But I noticed the way she glared at me, every time she walked,

In the end we forgot about her, for she didn't make a sound,
for in her little private world, she said her love for him was found,

I cried that day,
For soon our time was up,
We hugged for a really long time,
Until the time was up,

The short time we spent together was over,
It was time to go home,
I did get his cell phone number,
I was ready to hide in my dome,

The next few days I waited,
waited, and waited some more,
I guess my love didn't last for long,
Because I cried all night and wrote a song,

I might never hear from him,
My knight in shining armor,
But the memories we made that day,
Went into my heart and formed a harbor,

The ships of love may someday pass,
And some of them I might miss,
But I know one day from the dark,
I will get a kiss.
