Black Gold

by gless   Nov 12, 2007

The cold, bitter, water;
Black.
Fuels greed,
Poisons all who drink,
Destroys all to which it is fed.

I drank this water;
I enjoyed,
I loved it.
It took over me, it took over so many.

It runs my life,
Carries me where I go.
My cold is warm because of it,
The warmness already gone from me,
long, long ago.

I loved life once,
So did we all,
But then our eyes fill wiv evil;
Greed.

I may have all I want,
But the cold, black, bitter water
Takes my soul every day
And I will never get it back.
