A Friend

Can you hear me?
Can you hear my words
crying out of the shadows for help
or do you not wish to hear?

Can you see me,
or am i invisible
to you and everyone else
Why can't you see me?

Will you listen?
Will you be my friend
or do you not even care
for me or my life?

Can you see my hand
reaching out of the darkness?
reaching for someone
who will care for me.

Why can't you lend a hand,
lend a shoulder to cry on,
or an ear to listen,
and a heart to care.

Why won't you help me?
Stand up and make a difference.
Help Me,
For I need a friend.
