Take the stand

by Alison   Nov 21, 2007

Every single drop
of hope I once held
now drips from my fingers

and this cleansing rain
once so refreshing
no longer rids me of our pain
now it clings to me
and pulls me down again

pain forgotten now
take my hand
dry your tears now, baby
together we can take the stand
never let those dreaded tears fall again

run away now
let's see where this adventure might lead us

hope renewed as we bid this old dusty town farewell

pain forgotten now
love drawn anew
our names written in the sand
on this beach

take my hand
tears dried now, baby
our names written in the sand
never to see those tears fall again

Come with me
Take the stand.
