After Dark

by Isabella   Nov 26, 2007

After the light of day,
the sky turns into an awful gray.
Away flees the creatures that used to be,
now no one will ever be free.

I stray from the path before me.
I can not see.
The darkness consumes me.
Just let me be.

To the graveyard I seek,
where monsters my soul must keep.
In the mausoleum so dark and cold,
my bones turn dusty old.

I'm trapped inside the night.
Just hold me tight.
"Agony" screams the night.
What a sight.

I can feel the dismal and darkness of the poem. It is a spiral leading downward to an entrapment. Great use of words and imagery.
