Excellent piece. You really developed your ideas nicely throughout the poem. Great job.

& thanks a ton for the comments! They're really nice. Hopefully I can check out more of your work either tonight or in the morning. I'll def. return the favor (it might be awhile, though -- my bf and I are making Christmas cookies tomorrow so I may not have much time for the internet! lol)

Sometimes things happen unexpectantly and then the rest of you has to catch up. It's disconcerting, and it makes you feel shaken, but it's a part of being normal too. You get that way when life takes you by suprise and you look around and realize you gotta figure things out for yourself and there isn't a guidebook. You just do the best you can with what you have and try to step right.
    "Always been a little shaken
    When standing in new territory"
This was the other line that kind of hit me, that kind of struck me...
"I'll deal with the crash if it comes
I know I could make it through
Wouldn't be the first time I've lost something
Doesn't mean I want to lose you"
We all have lost people close to us in one sense or another, my personal opinion is that you need to gaurd you heart to what extent you can to minimize that crash...when and if it comes. In other words there are different levels of emotional commitment, some warranted, some logical, and others not. Too many people sell themselves too short when they think about the risk vs the gain. At the same time you cant be afraid to try, cant be too afraid to open up so that you cant even feel, so that's why i like this peice, it's a very complicated sentiment. I gave it a 5!
