The Unwritten Letter

Staring at this blank piece of paper
With stains from falling tears
Trying to write you this letter
That I have tried to write for years

Once I get a sentence written
It just doesnt seem right
Nothing can really explain
What happened that one night

Every letter goes to the trash
All the words seem like mistakes
Never has this been so hard
To put a pen at such high stakes

Why cant I just tell you
The way I really feel
But its just impossible
To make it sound real

I know youre not alone
And you dont need me
But you just have to know
You just have to truly see

I really do care about you
I was wrong to say I dont
But if I didnt leave
I wouldnt be able to let go

So staring at this paper
Knowing I never got over you
I really want you to know
But its best if you had no clue
