Under Sorrow's Moon

by Unrequited   Dec 29, 2007

The raindrops shimmer, glistening inside the moonlight
shading scars from scorching stars...
mist that cools an ashy fire.

I breathe in the showers of sorrow
as I sit beside my open window,
soothing my heart with innocence.

my scars still burn in solitude,
yet I am calmed by rekindled hope,
and I see your love within midnight's moon.

your glowing smile lies in my future
and your soul will heal my pain...
teardrops will cease to fall from heaven.

until that day, I remain in sorrow's care
bearing my scars to the world-
so tonight, let this rain fall over me...

my heart lies in dormancy
and now I sleep in silence, breathing in our love
underneath this midnight moon.
