Red Hair/Freckles

by Taylor   Jan 1, 2008

We took a forward plunge into a cesspool of stars,
Dove headfirst into the vastness of watery emotion,
That we thought we could somehow clench.
Pausing somewhere between here and there,
I found bliss in you.
I had the strangest notion that nothing would change,
That it would forever be summer, forever be October.
The silliest of girlish propensities, and useless fervor..
I stood on the shore of your country, feeling like a foreigner,
But loving the sights, the sounds, and the colors of your territory,
So much to evade my own civil war.
Leviathan astray, my Utopia a miserable sink;
Sorrow was a water, seeping into the sod of my being,
Harpooning my heart from here to nowhere.
Yet even in what this is, I am not regretting, if you aren't.

    Wow!
    This is so intense and passionate poem. I absolutely love the way on which you expressed emotions, and whole idea for the poem is very creative and unique. I honestly enjoyed in every line and you choice of words is also incredible. Well done. Amazing job!
