Calm Before the Storm (Villanelle)

~Written For a Contest~

Our souls intertwine as we taste the crisp of ocean dew
Across the vast shoreline of heartfelt emotions
Carefree and calm before the storm, like butterflies we flew

Along the white sands of time, our love has eventually grew
Strong winds gliding on our face, we remain sturdy and firm
Our souls intertwine as we taste the crisp of ocean dew

Blood red sun descends, severe warmth it blew
Beneath the whirlpool of danger, we proceed with ignorance
Carefree and calm before the storm, like butterflies we flew

Waves crushing and wrecking sailing boats, only few
Breeze getting colder, igniting our hearts loving passion
Our souls intertwine as we taste the crisp of ocean dew

I foresee no harm within your presence, one thing I knew
Wrapped with your delicate arms, I feel secured and safe
Carefree and calm before the storm, like butterflies we flew

In the midst of looming death, along the air our names we drew
Lacing each others hand with a love so vivid and forever true
Our souls intertwine as we taste the crisp of ocean dew
Carefree and calm before the storm, like butterflies we flew
