Apple tree

by Alisha Rachelle   Jan 5, 2008

Deep in the garden
a little girl is painting
the apples blue. the
apple tree, forever free.
the girl rests beneath
the apple tree. tick tock
tick tock! am i off a rhyme?
tick tock tick tock i must
go run with the flock. but,
the little girl gets left behind.
must she ever bind to the
apple tree eat from its blue
fruit. little girl awoke; she
woke with a choke. a snake
had choked her and convoked.
silly snake I'll whack you
till you get a hunchback. the
slithering snake slithered away
then along came another
poisonous pray. tick tock
tick tock the girl was beating
the clock. she rammed the
snake with no seconds to
wait. she lived off the blue apple
and when they grew, painted
them blue.

Fantasy abounds here but that is OK - for what would a poet do without some craziness ?? I have to say that I really like your poem. I think that the nature section of this site has to be where one can find really wonderfully written poems. They arent old and dull like so may other love poems. Im sure mine fall into that category once in awhile. I found your work very interesting. Keep up the good words and may all your writings bring you peace.
