You Remember My Name?

by Taylor   Jan 5, 2008

It's been what, almost 2 months since we've spoke
And for the longest time I wanted you to choke
Though the other day, was really unexpected
When you passed by me, I actually didn't feel rejected
But you weren't with your girlfriend, so that's no surprise
And when you got closer, a smile was in your eyes
Your face lit up as you reached my boyfriend first
In my head I was thinking, "Do your worst."
Then you got to me, and you weren't to blame
"Hey Taylor" What? Did you just say my name?
You had a smile on your face, when you passed by
And I saw that little devious look in your eye
As you said your words, the look went away
After you said my name, I didn't know what to say
All this time, I thought you forgot about me
Because before all you talked about was "her" and "she"
I stood in shock, and I told my best friend
She was surprised, too, and she wanted to hear it again
"He still remembers your name?" She asked me that night
"Yeah... I'm stunned" I said, remembering the sight
It's kinda funny, how you're different when she's not there
The second you said it though, it sounded like you cared
How weird to hear your voice, you put us all to shame
What's weirder is, that you remembered my name

This was a powerful poem. Sometimes I feel this way whenever I think about my ex-boyfriends. I wonder if any of them remember who I am and what my name is? Oh well, I love my boyfriend right now with all of my heart. Anyways, great piece! I can totally relate, as you can tell, and your choice of words was excellent. The flow was very smooth and I just loved it. Great job! 5/5 <3 <3 <3
