Phony Rationale

by kristine   Jan 14, 2008

You say we need to take a break,
You act as if it's a piece of cake,
I try to smile on the outside,
I say it will be okay even though I lied,
The days pass by,
I still ask myself why,
I can't talk about it,

All the things I regret,
Cause me to sit and fret,
I wish I could go back to the day,
To tell you everything I never had the guts to say,
I fight my tears with fake smiles and lies,
When on the inside it's never ending cries,
But I can't talk about it,

You'd think after all this time,
I'd move on from the same heartbreak rhyme,
But when everything reminds me of you,
It makes forgetting you the hardest thing to do,
I will never learn from my mistakes,
It's always another risk I take,
So I don't have to bring myself to talk about it.
