Green Eyes and Fireflies

by Thomas A Michel   Jan 14, 2008

Laying in your strong, warm arms
staring at the late night sky,
watching fireflies gather in swarms,
feeling so much love and warmth in your deep green eyes.

City lights overpower the late night stars
but that don't mean a thing to me,
for this moment is forever ours,
and your breathtaking face and eyes, are all I need to see.

Hearing your heartbeat, feeling you breathe
it's amazing how the simple things, can mean so much to me.
Stuck here in this moment, never wanting to leave,
lost in an ecstasy of ever growing glee.

City lights overpower the late night stars
but that don't mean a thing to me,
for this moment is forever ours,
and in your eyes, I see our future and all that we will be.
