How We Say Goodbye

by RB   Jan 15, 2008

Tender hearts and empty gazes,
Lead me through these endless mazes.

Slowly I begin to see.

Happiness is fleeting,
My heart is quickly beating.

I'm gasping for air.

It's you; you're doing this to me,
It's you; you make it hard to breath.

Do you really love me?

Foolishly I'm blinded by your smile,
I guess that this is what you call denial.

You don't really love me.

Feel me; place your hand upon my heart,
Feel me; you know your tearing us apart.

It's time to let you go.

No need to hide emotions,
For I've figured out your notions.

Look me in the eye.

This really isn't too surreal,
I've slowly realized what you feel.

This is how we say goodbye.
