The Building of Love

by xOx-LittleLover   Jan 17, 2008

Love- you build it. It's like anything special you build. You put all your blood, sweat and tears into making it perfect. You try and try with all your might until you've accomplished what was desirable, but when do you reach that point? All those weeks, months, even years you spend non-stop trying, it's a constant building process. You can reach it to the highest potential, but then something will break, crack, or spill. You're now left fixing, pulling everything back together; still trying. If you don't start from scratch, it's never the same again. Sometimes every crack, break or spill you fix can make the creation stronger, other times it will make it crumble miserably. What do you do when it crumbles, when all your hard work fails completely; you start again. So why does the problem in the first place not make us react to the simple option of, starting again. Instead of the problem of just a few cracks, breaks or spills, it's now the dilemma of keeping it whole. What happens when after all the weeks, months or even years spent working on this special creation it gets destroyed, you don't just simply weep, or move on. You keep trying, still with all your might to rebuild it, there's only so much you can give, even if you have so much hope to keep trying. Yeah, you build love; you put so much effort into it because you want it so bad to be perfect. When it's done you can't help but crush at every memory, remembering all the strength you put in, knowing that there was a possibility it could all come crashing down. It's the risk you take, the breath of hope you have, the confidence that it felt so right, that it just wouldn't or couldn't be utterly demolished. Unlike something you build; you can't ever imagine how bad it will hurt, the feeling of something you put so much thought into and cared so much about could turn out to rip your heart out, and spit it into the cold, with nothing but a "let's be friends". Ha, yeah friends. Your left thinking, how can I be friends with you when I want to be so much more? But you still try. That's what love does, it pulls you in, and even when it spits you back out, you still keep trying to get back in because you don't want to lose that feeling you had with that person, the feeling that could never be forgotten. And for them; it was.
