You're Losing

Excuses cover the apologies
where it should be understood.
I never thought you'd hurt me
and I doubted that you could.
Pretenses cover lies
to make you the bigger man.
Caught up in your web
you fight with lies again.
Eyes glazed with hatred.
It's nothing more than pain.
Injustice brings the truths
that put us both to shame.
A monopoly of burdens
shared with myself alone.
It's nothing short of denial.
It's more than I can hold.
Through it all, I have to say
that you're the one at loss.
I'm losing the one I cared about
but it's you who's losing love.
