She was always with someone but deep down longed to be with him,
He wanted to make her his but every guy she was with crushed him and tired to let her go,
She had a broken heart and for months it has been split into two,
He missed seeing her smile but respected her wishes in needing time,
She stood be the gate under the dark midnight sky staring at the face she longed for,
He sat in the cheering stands staring down at the face engraved in his heart,
She stood and listened to his performance never taking her eyes off him,
He performed with such grace and at the end of his performance he stood close by her,
Like a magnet she locked her hand with his,
He turned at her with a smile on his face and slowly walked her up to the hill top,
She had no idea what would happen next but just standing by him with his hand in hers made her feel weak,
He took her other hand with a deep breath and looking straight into her eyes asked her to be his,
She hid her feelings from him for two years and she did not want to hide them anymore,
He smiled and held her tight,
The night was cool but being in his arms and feeling the warmth from his heart made the night feel like a warm summer night
He held her hand and walked back to the cheering stands,
She let go of his hand and held him tight then gently kissed his soft lips
