Unbreakable

by BrittyLynne   Jan 28, 2008

Momentary illusions
Based on broken promises
Lead to broken hearts
That will soon be reborn
From the ashes
Once thought to be
Completely unable
To save.
But there's always someone
Who can nurture anything
Anything
Broken
Or otherwise
Back to health
Back to happiness
Back to this world
And let it thrive.
Our heart
Has more lives
Than the oldest feline
That creeps through the shadows
Of the night
And depends on its legendary
Nine lives.
We live
And more importantly
We thrive.
It seems like it's the end
Far too often
When really
It's just a bump in the road
No one has a perfectly smooth ride
In their life.
Some have it easier than others
And yet
They don't really live life
Like those who have it hard
They won't understand the trials
They won't appreciate it as much.
Our hearts do not break
Our hearts do not explode
Our hearts do not crumble.
They cannot tear
They cannot be "stabbed"
And they cannot be stopped
Even after we take our last breath
We will always keep on loving
Nothing can stop the heart
From loving.
We take some things too personally
But who can blame us?
It's our life
And every instance
Becomes a part of it
Every scar
Becomes memory.
Our hearts cannot break
But they can
Be lost.
