Heartsong

by Unrequited   Jan 29, 2008

A field of moonlight suns,
crushed and bled of their fervent joy;
they fill my dreams.
blooming in agitation,
breaking down the barriers
of a love's dark day.

hearts are breathing.
in my dreams, clouds
are bleeding.
white rose, a mirror into
innocence never consumed,
but simply left to rot.
yet I will greet this sorrow,
and burn the dying bridges
I have crossed.
there is no beginning to which
I may return.

in future days,
love will find a way...
and I will bury the clouds
upon their rosebud wake,
leaving my dreams to bloom
in moonlight, suddenly glowing
once more.

let the dawn receive me,
and clouds brush away
visions of dark.
our love will shiver inside this new light,
and there will be no end to its beauty.

together, our voices will whisper a heartsong.
