Watching out for you

by lost   Jan 30, 2008

Standing here before this wall
The one you've put around yourself
To keep the ones that love you
From finding your lost soul
Your broken heart is left forgot
Left to waste in all your thoughts
As you close that one last door
I run to you and break it down
I force myself into your life
And hammer at these worn walls
Soon enough you will see
That all the times you pushed me out
And all the times you had your doubts
It was all to show you that I cared
All to show you I was there
When that boy cut you down
You weren't the only one to fall
I saw your pain
And saw your tears
I watched as you built these walls
Brick by brick and cut by cut
I watched as you pulled yourself away
But now I'm here to stay
No longer will I watch
As you lie to waste away
Because once upon a long lost time
We used to call each other friend
And though you may forgotten
All the times we shared
The memory of you
I have held so dear
So now forever I will hold you up
And never will I let you fall
You will probably never see me
And that's ok with me
But always I will be
Looking out for you.
