The floods are coming

by traceybilsbarrow   Jan 30, 2008

Dark & gloomy outside,
No rainbow in the sky
raindrops against the window
you can hear them loud,
cold north winds a blowin
leaves flying everywhere
puddles on the tarmac,
gushing down the grids
no-ones really smilin
especially not the kids.
2.00pm the afternoon
the floods are coming,
coming soon
scared to take our eyes away
scared to look & see
if the waters rising
soon we'll be at sea
no-one speaks about it
to scared they'll bring it on
get all your belongings
get them or they'll be gone.
Wasthat a ray of sunshine,
that beamed into the room
do we smile or cheer
maybe thats a bit to soon
silently were waiting
darkness creeps to black,
tired and weary blinking
trying to stay awake,
hope the rain dont come no more,
its all that we can take.
