Chills

"Blackout, blackout! Oh, we have a blackout!"
Again in my school, this place is nuts
"Go to your 7th period! Everybody, get out!"
This administration is always put into ruts
Walking in the hallway, I saw your face
"Oh God," I thought, "Here we go"
I started to walk at a slower pace
And you walked faster, so I could know

I yelled down the hallway to anyone who was listening
And when you answered back to me, I was shocked
It felt like the first day and we were christening
The moment slowed and the emotions rocked

But when I first heard your voice today
It sent a chill right down my spine
I had no idea of what to say
But I had the chance to turn back time

"We're having a conversation.." thought rushing through my head
"My God, this kid is actually speaking to me"
It's been 3 months since we've left our friendship dead
And everything was all coming back quickly
Then I saw your girlfriend and thought "Oh well"
I said "Cya later", and I thought you heard
I guess you said goodbye, but I had to walk through Hell
So today I heard your voice, the voice of the Black Bird
