An Everlasting Coldness

by Maple   Jan 31, 2008

Dark nights are mysterious nights
Filled with myth and unending frights
The way inside is a torture indeed
For all those who have a ravenous need

Lights go out, dark creatures stir
Mocking all hearts that were ever unsure
Frost is mighty, drizzle is pain
Never letting go of the souls of sane

Cold nights are revealing nights
When courage cowers in pitiful sights
Men end up as what they never knew
As they make their way out of shivering blue

This is a poem filled with many things
Of hope and fulfillment, the joy of having dreams
But with that comes darkness, scare, and cold
As the world's deadliest secrets unfold
