Beautiful Facade

by Natalie84   Feb 3, 2008

No matter where I go
Regardless of what I say
There's no escaping this misery
I'm intertwined in a
Web of hated love
Every word you speak
Takes another piece of me
As the moon rises each night
And I attempt to end
This desolate fight
I pray to be free
Yet the leash of admiration
Refuses to release me
You make promises
Like I'm the one and only
Receiver of your love
But still I know better
I can feel the lies
Vibrating the core of my soul
As you confess feelings for me
I can hear the devil
Screaming my name
Still, I succumb to the depths of deceit
Wrapping my arms
Around false connections
My heart's crying out
Endlessly begging
For a man's affection
Constantly dreaming
Of a sincere correlation
The inner voice of this facade
Divulges in reality
Revealing the truth behind
Your beautiful eyes
I've beat down
The barricades of love's disguise
I see you for what you are
Still in the eyes of clarity
You're beautiful to me
Even through your lies
Yes, even through these tears
You're beautiful to me
I hate the sight of actuality
Take me back
Erase my memory
Show me you
The one I love
Show me you
The one untrue
