Time travel

Is it possible?

also i don't mean looking at the stars because technically that is looking back in time. i mean setting a date and going back to that specific time, and then coming back.

Every day, every minute that goes by, we're traveling forward through time.

In the mind; our memories of the past & our dreams for the future. :)

I think it could be. Time is so much more fluid and complicated than we generally experience it.

Traveling forward in time is easy, the faster you move the faster time seems to pass for you. going backwards is the hard part. Even it if we got the capabilities to travel back in time it would be thousands of times more difficult to actually travel back to a specific place, especially earth. The earth isnt in fixed place in the universe, it is constantly moving, along with our solar system and galaxy. Even if you were able to travel back to the specific point that you left from, you'd most likely end up in the middle of space somewhere, where the earth was at that time. Seeing as the most plausible way to travel back in time is through a worm hole, its even more likely that you'd end up in another galaxy somewhere, or even a parallel universe.

so even though it is "possible" the odds against ever successfully doing it are incredibly slim.

John proves an extremely true point. Thats actually something I've thought about before specifically.

Time travel is moving faster than light. i just don't think that it's possible.

I don't know, I've read about this in while I was searching for my phisics project, I was searching the topic (time) because my teacher said something interesting about time being a fourth dimention of things in general and human beings, and there was something about a theory of time travel, but they haven't proved the theory yet. Check it out, you might be able to do it.
As for my own beliefs, there was a preacher the other day on tv and he was talking about islam and the after life, and one of the things he said were that a persons soul is different from a persons body, your body has limitations and the soul doesn't. So when you are out of your body your soul has no limits in all of the five sences, so you can see through walls and in the distance of countries, hear, taste, feel things you have never felt. And again I thought about movies and how they pictured the soul and also astral projection, it's all things your soul can do but your body can't. So my point is I do think time travel is possible, but only by your soul, not by your body.

Yeah, or maybe people just think that they have traveled through time. then you think something, that's crazy, for long enough you star to belive it.

So dark secret why is combining two highly theoretical things more logical than only one. I.E. the soul+time travel instead of just time travel.

Time travel is possible according to Einstein and recent theories and mathematical models. The soul, on the other hand, is something unconfirmed.

Time travel is a fools game and for all you know we may have had time travellers come and visit us, impart important information to save the world, then zapped by to their time, realized it only made things worse...then zapped back and stopped themselves telling us and went back to the future to understand that time should be sequential and messing with it could undo creation...

I explained it in my post, they are linked in some way, don't know exactly how, they both are as you said theoretical but it makes sence to link them in that way- to me anyway- plus I already believe in souls so they are not theoretical to me.

Belief does not prove the existence of anything.

soul time traveling sounds a bit far fetched to me, even more than traveling wormholes.
