I have just heard off my gf's stepdad and im really sickened by this he was walking down a street and he saw a sign outside of a church saying "i kissed a girl and i liked it now im going of hell" based on the kate perry song i mean homophobia i one thing but forcing that kinda attitude on people makes you no better than a natzi in my opinion what the hell is wrong with people

Some churches have their own opinion just like you... but your not any diffrerent from those people at that church if your going to compare then to "natzi" ... yea they are wrong from saying that but it dosent mean you go judge then now.. but that my opinion

Theres a black president i would say the black community is doing ok i understand there are some bigots that cannot accept a different skin colour which is sad in my opinion because you shouldnt judge a wiseman by the colour of his skin

and i did not condem a religon i pointed out that that they are not open minded to how love is defined in a different ways

and i agree 100% that people should shut the hell up and let peope live there lives the way they want within the law

It's important to be ok with Black Foxes anger on this, lets no shut him down. Anger is ok if it's honest and not directed too violently at anyone.

Didn't Jesus himself got a bit nuts at all the merchants in the temple? ( I wish he'd come bck now and do that with all the Bankers idiots who have wasted so much of our money!!!))

We need to step up and challenge any institution when it even attempts to limit us in any way that is NOTHING to do with them. Esepcially when it's a religious one that is taking serious liberties with it's interpretation of the bible.

They used to kiss each other as a standard greeting in old Jerusalem, twice on each cheek as I recall.

"Theres a black president i would say the black community is doing ok i understand there are some bigots that cannot accept a different skin colour which is sad in my opinion because you shouldnt judge a wiseman by the colour of his skin"

Look into COINTELPRO, a sect of the FBI that was big in the 60's and 70's and is actually still running to this day. It may appear in some ways that the African American population is doing well, but racism is still a problem everywhere on some scale.

How can religion be open minded? Truly? To actually admit that you are wrong about something and give people leeway to start questioning any number of things, probably not on it's list of priorities lol

^This whole black president thing is just another form of racism. If you look at a map of all the places who voted for Obama, you'll see that it's mostly around the south and in Chicago and places where large groups of African Americans live. No one listened to what he was saying, really. They either voted for him because he was black or didn't vote for him because he was black. Because if anyone did really listen, they would have realized that he whole "Yes we can!" thing was stolen from Bob the Builder. ;)

Obama is actually bi-racial, so why do we keep referring to him as "black"?

^^ ...I haven't laughed so hard in a long time! I was completely oblivious to that! "Yes we can!" Thank you. :)

Obama, has spent over 2 trillion dollars in his current state. Give him 4 more years he'll top Bush. I don't remember who said it but ''The worst president of all time, is the current one''

The whole calling people natzi, because they don't like gay people is way way way too extreme. Anyone can be openly racist if they please and anyone can be openly homophobic if they please, I honestly don't care just don't talk to me.

My opinion... it's the people who do that not religeon and not based on religeon... People often confuse religeon with bad habbits that have been passed on generation upon generation and have been associated to religeous people and so they are considered from that specific religeon. We can't judge the religeon according to the people who believe in it, some people are just like that and they would take anything to the extreme and stay like that, stubborn and hard headed. On the other hand others take it lightly and look at religeon as a way of guidence and help and a way of life. If you really want to know a religeon just read about it, make research. Because no matter how religious a person is they can never fulfill it's true meaning.

Has religion reached a new low, or has the people's interpretation of said religion that reached a new low?

What I find completely impossible to understand is how people can claim that their religion is one of peace while at the same time calling for the extermination of all who do not believe as they do."

Self preservation is needed when establishing religion... Without it the jews would be the slaves of the pharoh... mary, jesus and joseph would be dead... Hundred of christians wouldn't die at the hands of roman, buddhism would cripple under the throngs of hinduism...Taoism would rule over confucianism etc...

Fact is defending your religion in a time where the word 'choices" is unheard of is common...

Religion teaches peace however it also needs to self preserve as well... Like I said before interpretation is the sole cause of problems today...

Books can be interpreted according to its reader...

Yes I'm sure those cavemen were sitting in their caves discussing the belief in god...Lol

I believe what you described was not the formation of any deism rather an ancient form of totemism... Its two different matters...

You can't simplify this by contrasting differing societies with their own norms, values and taboos and chalk it up to their own fevered hunger towards war...

Emerging religions have to defend their own truths from those threatened by it... which is why some went to war... You cannot compare today's fundamentalism with it... Many couldn't have the same societal freedoms and choices we had...

It's just strict Christianity at its finest. Haven't we all seen that a million times before?

Not that I agree with it, but it's certainly no news to me, and to be honest, most (completely sane) people don't believe in that bull anyway. I'm sure even people who walk into that particular church don't even believe that it's right.

"forcing that kinda attitude on people makes you no better than a natzi in my opinion"

Sorry, but that statement is just ridiculous. Comparing a sign on a church to naziism? That's a bit of an overstatement...

    It's funny.

I bet none of you believe in Zeus or Thor or Ra'..or any number of older Gods who were once fervently believed in.

We let those old Gods fall to history, even though people prayed to them just as passionately as some do to Jesus.

Religion is only truth based on what time you live in and what religion you are raised in, and what is allowed by those in power.

Religion has to serve the political powers of the time, or it won't be allowed to grow...

Most religions carry the same meanings inherently. It's the most basic building block of religion. A sense of morality.

Donald. you find it impossibe to believe in a universe that came from nothing . while i find it even more impossible to believe in an all powerful god who can magicaly do anything he likes, coming from nothing. at least we have some proof that the universe actually exists.

and yes. i know for a fact that gods do exist. but only in the same way truth or beauty or love exists. there is not one molecule of them in the entire universe. they exist only in our minds and yet they can have such a profound controll over all of us. personally i believe it is man who created god, not the other way around
