Oh boy, lots of questions. I'm going to watch a movie then I'll answer every question to the full extent of my rambling abilities.
So yeah, give me a few hours.

Man I got sick just reading all that....when will you ever learn the perfect answer

    this was the perfect answer

    :P

keep it simple next time...who cares if you defend each other or not, and it's obvious you all have your own minds, if you didn't I wouldn't have so much fun pissing all of you off....:P
    -----------------------------------------------------

Man alive - things never seem to change here - its either full of people telling others what to do, or full of people contradicting themselves. Oh well.

My question to you Jane is:

If you could pick only one type of animal to survive a catastrophic disaster, which animal would it be and why?

  • silvershoes

Oright. Here I go... I should know better than to let questions build up like this. It's going to take me a bloody hour to answer 'em all.

"What are you thoughts on Acorn bringing foward a lawsuit against Hanna Giles for 5 million dollars for the videos she brought forth about cheating the IRS, work-arounds for starting a prostitution ring and importing underaged girls, and so forth?"

I'm not sure I understand the whole case, but without a full understanding, here's my opinion: Hannah Giles and the others involved should be penalized by the lowest degree of the law for invasion of privacy and acquiring private information without consent, but the fact of the matter is, Acorn was conspiring in illegal activities - very serious ones. I believe that everyone is entitled to a relative amount of privacy, but legality is legality private or not. Since tangible evidence has been brought forth, confirming Acorn's guilt of [intentions of] cheating the IRS and manipulating underage girls, Acorn should not be protected by any privacy laws lessening the punishment for said illegal behavior. Cat's out of the bag, so to speak, and it would be ridiculous to try to shove it back in.
If that answer made no sense, it's probably because I don't understand the case well enough (which I said).

"Do you believe in an afterlife? Such as Heaven and Hell?"

It depends. Sometimes I believe in an afterlife, sometimes I don't. I guess I'm only spiritual when it conveniences me, otherwise my science brain tells me I'm being superstitious. However, I would very much like to believe in Heaven and Hell. I hope that there is an afterlife. I just don't think there's any way of knowing for sure until I die, and then only if there IS one.. otherwise I'll never know.

"At what point in your life would you like to see yourself married?"

Late 20s/Early 30s. When I'm ready. Hopefully I'll know when I've met the right person, and at that point hopefully I'll be willing to settle down. So yeah, I haven't much of a clue.

"Do you want kids? If so, How many?"

As Bob pointed out: 3. But just like marriage, I really haven't got a clue. I do want kids, I don't know how many. Let's go with 2 to 4.

"What is one poem that has the deepest impact on you and why?"

Argh, that's a really tough question. I'm going to cheap-skate this and give you the lyrics to a song that has a very deep impact on me and has meant a lot to me over this past year or so. "Lover, You should've Come Over" by Jeff Buckley.

"How long have you been riding?"

Before I could walk. I learned to walk at 13. Jokes! My first time on a horse was when I was 2 and from then until now I've been atop a horse pretty consistently.

"Where do you wish to live when you have a family of your own? Will you stay in CA or move somewhere else? Why?"

I think about this sometimes... And I probably have less of an idea than anyone else I know. Could be California, could be in more of a horse state like Montana, could be another english speaking country (England, Scotland, Ireland, Australia, NZ...) or could be somewhere very exotic where I think it would be eye-opening for kids to grow up... like my all time favorite: Thailand. I really don't know. Lately I've been thinking another english speaking country, not the US. Canada would be cool.

    "Favorite movie and why?"

Maybe 'Into The Wild'. Why? The concept and truth of the story speaks to a very deep and suppressed part of my spirit. I know that sounds corny and stupid, but it's true. I feel like the film expresses a profound intensity I have buried in my heart to live out a simplistic, animalistic life of solitude in the wild. Peaceful and natural. Christopher McCandless is my hero. Hail Supertramp!

"what is relativity and why is it relevant:P"

First I have a question for you. What's up with this new :P face you're inserting everywhere? And the name pumpkin! You're turning into a cutesy pants.
Ok, relativity and why is it relevant... I better have an answer for you, right, since I frequently use the word.. Here goes: Relativity is a thing's significance based upon its relationship to another thing or things. So for instance, my mom is relatively far away. She's far away inside of my house (3 flights of stairs up), but she's not far away in relationship to the entire city. It's relevant because I've probably used the word several times already. Or did you mean how is relativity relevant in general? By that you probably mean, why does it matter? It matters to give people a better idea of the smaller and bigger scale views of a thing in question.

"Your photo is pretty but very pixelated. Is it on purpose? Would you change your avatar to a close-up shot of your elbow skin with blue and red filters? I think it would look fantastic and have been meaning to do it for some time. Please do it for me?"

It's not on purpose. I have a mac and I don't have the proper applications to resize a photo and bring down the pixelations to a degree tolerable to this site, while saving the quality of the photo... I guess there are websites that can do that kind of business for me, but it's not an important enough matter to me for me to discover them and use them :) This photo is distorted and a year or 2 old though, so I should update. Argh.
I will not do it for you! I would if it would only take me a couple minutes, but I feel like it would take at least 15 minutes for my incompetent self to do.

"If you could pick only one type of animal to survive a catastrophic disaster, which animal would it be and why?"

Oh my god, do you guys even give a crap about the answers I give to these ridiculous questions!? Hahaha, alright alright, let me think.
Right. Horse. Because then more people would own them and therefore ride them and I'd consequently have more riding buddies. Yay!

...I'm going to bed. This post drained my last bits of energy. Keep the questions coming, but...... slower :)

    Lastly,
"Man alive - things never seem to change here - its either full of people telling others what to do, or full of people contradicting themselves."

Don't worry about it, I wasn't offended so nobody else should be. Love ya, Mo, but let it go. (See that? I rhymed).

    K bye for now!

    Nice answers ;]

Okay, so what are you thoughts on the Empire State building in New York City being lighted red and yellow to mark the 60th anniversary of Communist China?

Do you think this is a smart move for the USA? I mean after all the Cold War was all about Communisim and now we are celebrating it?
You think the only reason we are doing this is to keep the Chinese happy? After all, we are in debt to them a huge deal, and if they don't follow through with our payment plans, they technically can shut down the whole country.

You thoughts and opinions please. :]

"You think the only reason we are doing this is to keep the Chinese happy?"

You read my mind. Yes, this is exactly what we're doing. It's actually embarrassingly stupid that we'd celebrate the continuation of communism in any country, for countless reasons, including the Cold War (like you said).
China is going to destroy us someday.

"China is going to destroy us someday." - In your honest opinion, you think it will be in our lifetime or perhaps maybe our kid's lifetime, or even neither?

Now on the subject of war, what are your thoughts about General Stanley A. McChrystal asking for more troops in Afghanistan?

Will the President agree and move the process on to get more troops there, or will he deny it? (In your opinion of course.)

If the president doesn't send more troops into Afghanistan, you think that will possibly destroy our NATO Alliances?

If the President agrees with this and does want to send more troops, do you think there could be a possible draft? I mean after all a majority of the National Guard have already been deployed overseas several times.

If I'm not mistaken aprox. 1 Million troops have been sent over seas in the time span of 2001 - 2005 which is aprox. 1/3 of the amount that was deployed during the Vietnam war which lasted over the course of 15 years. So now that it is 2009 I would expect that number to have doubled by now which would make aprox 2 million troops that have been deployed to my knowledge at least.

Do you like my questions? :]

Not a question just a note:
"I have a mac and I don't have the proper applications to resize a photo and bring down the pixelations to a degree tolerable to this site"

you can do that all in preview, the default picture viewer on mac. or iphoto.

Right on, thanks John. I'll get a new pic up today.
Bob, sorry to have failed your question. I never took physics and if I did, it mattered so much to me that I clearly don't remember taking it. I thought my answer was most excellent!
I'll get to answering other questions later today. Peace.

""China is going to destroy us someday." - In your honest opinion, you think it will be in our lifetime or perhaps maybe our kid's lifetime, or even neither?"

No idea, but definitely within 2 centuries from now, unless something very drastic happens that changes the circumstances.

"Now on the subject of war, what are your thoughts about General Stanley A. McChrystal asking for more troops in Afghanistan? Will the President agree and move the process on to get more troops there, or will he deny it? (In your opinion of course.)"

I thought Obama already sent reinforcements? Well, I don't blame McChrystal for wanting more. Obama will agree to it. His plan is to get in, take care of business (eliminate the threat of the Taliban), get out, as quickly as possible. I feel like if we have a goal we should put all our efforts into that goal instead of going half-ass at it and prolonging the issue - which inevitably would lead to greater casualties, higher overall costs, and major loss of political support. I trust Obama to make the right decisions. He is qualified to lead our country, unlike aheemmmm coughbush.

"If the president doesn't send more troops into Afghanistan, you think that will possibly destroy our NATO Alliances?"

No. Not at all. This is predominantly our war on terror and military allies within NATO have an obligation under the treaty to aid us in our mission... NATO was originally designed to include the United States as our participation was considered necessary to counter the USSR. I don't think the amount of troops we send in to Afghanistan is going to determine our future within NATO. We're in. We're not going anywhere soon, suckas!

"If the President agrees with this and does want to send more troops, do you think there could be a possible draft? I mean after all a majority of the National Guard have already been deployed overseas several times."

Nah, there are still plenty of volunteers and nationalists. There's not going to be any drafting! If there is, I'll join of my own accord.

"If I'm not mistaken aprox. 1 Million troops have been sent over seas in the time span of 2001 - 2005 which is aprox. 1/3 of the amount that was deployed during the Vietnam war which lasted over the course of 15 years. That wasn't a question, I realize. However... Vietnam was way more intense than what's going on now, as far as I'm concerned.

"Do you like my questions? :]"

    They're great :)

You live in this country too, ya bum. And I sure didn't pay for it. I'm a jobless bum. A free rider...

Oi, I don't know what Obama should be doing. We don't have the money to host the Olympics. Hopefully he knows something I don't.
Do countries spend more or make more when hosting the Olympics?

Being out of work kind of implies that you have looked for a job hahaha

  • silvershoes

I have looked.. about 20 places. This is the first time I've been out of work and haven't been able to find employment on my first attempt. It's a stab to my inflated ego.
Apparently bookstores and Veterinary Hospitals aren't hiring ANYWHERE. I guess I should be less picky about where I work, but I've never had to be less picky before... it's difficult for me to come to terms with.
I'm being spoiled, I know, instead of settling for something other people would be happy to have. I'll find a job soon. Someone wanted to hire me as a receptionist at a law firm, but I turned it down. I turned down a waitressing job too. I was being stupid.

Rikki, share the wealth. Are you the inheritor of such fine fortunes or did you work your ass off at one point and now you're living off savings?

Bob, I really like working (of course it depends on the job). I feel useless when I'm unemployed.

  • silvershoes

Oh right. I'm dressing as something from Alice in Wonderland.. haven't decided yet. Going with a group of people and we're playing different parts. I'm thinking the Queen of Hearts or a Mad Hatter. Or Cheshire cat! Yeahh...

Rikki, of course they should be allowed to! Eh, it depends on the age I guess and how big a group the kids are wandering around in. That's very RELATIVE.

    Lol...

"If you really need to be slapped in the face with some reality, here are the questions my members have posted so far"

Its funny I was wondering how your thread count got a 90+ while Ask Luke gets a measly 26...Then when you remove Bob's and Rikki's play fighting, the mods' and Luke's formality to actually ask seeing as you egotistically did his and musicality's question (which I'm guessing came from nice convo you gave her club recruitment thread).

The majority of questions really comes from your club...Now why would your club members ask you questions in the main forum when they could do the same in your club forum...It really makes no sense...But then from your quote...It actually came to me.

So now here's a question and I truly hope you answer this: Do you think this thread would reach to the 90's without your club members involvement?

Oh and I hope you don't see this a bitterness...Because really its just me being playful as always...Lol

  • silvershoes

Sorry gang, I've been really busy lately and I'm about to hit the pillow with my face. So tired! -yawn-
And yes, I do realize it's absolutely devastating when I don't respond to your questions within 5 minutes :) Yeah, anyway..

"If you could only choose one author from each literary genre to read for the rest of your life - who would they be?"

Ooooh, that's a toughie. I honestly don't know... Err okay well for romantic novels (whatever you wanna call 'em - historical fiction?), I'd go with Jane Austen. Fantasy... I guess either Tamora Pierce or George R.R. Martin. I love Kurt Vonnegut. K, sorry, I give up. Good question, but I'm not equipped to answer it satisfactorily.

"Jane, do you probably think this song is about you?

    Yeah, probably.

"Why won't you answer my Edinburgh question?"

What question? You mean the question created to make fun of me? Shove off! (Otherwise, what question?)

"Tell us you most favourite philisophical quote about the meaning of Liff."

    This too shall pass.

"Do you worry people will check out your facebook and watch that video of you and your pretty blonde friend being complete rebound goofballs with the stretchy face thing and wonder...is this her? is this the mad sexy bareback horse riding Kung Fu woman I've been fantasizing over?...This, with her googly eyes and mongled face giggling like she is 6?"

I do not worry, my friend.. if anything, that video makes me 10X more alluring and sexy.

"So now here's a question and I truly hope you answer this: Do you think this thread would reach to the 90's without your club members involvement?"

Phew, after all that mumbo jumbo about how I'm egotistic and I fail at everything, I was beginning to think you forgot to ask a question!
Here's my answer: I have no idea. It hasn't reached to the 90s without them, so there's no way to be sure.
If my club members didn't participate, this thread still could have reached the 90s.. but it would've taken longer.
I think enough people know me around here to be curious about me - but that's not to say I'm "popular".
Lastly, I reckon members from my club have posted on here/asked question because they want to be part of the PnQ community - no ill intentions intended! I wouldn't fret over it, Noir.

    ;)

other than Rikki, me, luke and musicality... It seems to me that the mods and club members are the only ones asking questions... So do they count as the pnq community?
"I think enough people know me around here to be curious about me - but that's not to say I'm "popular".

Give it a break Noir, ya sadsack party pooper!

You'd think any half decent thread would be welcomed by anyone who still visits this website..who cares if club members post in it.

Oh, you do, cause yer a weirdo.

This is why club members replied here.

She posted it here. Wow..did you see how I did that?

Yeah Noir, come on, all you're doing is sabotaging the good atmosphere. Actually, you're *trying* to sabotage it, but hopefully everyone else is still having a good time. I think you should just chill out.. try to be pleasant for once.
If you want me to say that without the mods and members from my club this thread would've failed - FINE. Without the mods and my club members, this thread would've failed. (As if I care!)
Happy? Now please remove the stick from your ..

"Ok here's a serious question I'd be interested to hear your opinion on. Do you think assisted suicide should be legalized for those who are terminally ill and can mentally make that decision for themselves.....The reason I ask is because I'm having a hard time figuring why it's illegal, I mean we kill babies because they might be a "pain" in the ass, but we won't put people out of their misery."

I think assisted suicide should by all means be legal. Obviously only if the victim is terminally ill and can mentally make the decision for themselves. I completely agree with you, I don't understand why it should be illegal - but not for the reasons you mentioned. I'm pro abortion. Being pro abortion isn't something easy to say, it's not something anyone admits to on a whim, but I've given abortion a lot of thought.. I'm pro it. I also don't think a baby is a baby until it's at least halfway developed mentally and physically. Late term abortion is killing babies, but not early term.
^ I know a LOT of people disagree on my views here, but please don't get your panties in a twist because you are absolutely entitled to disagree with me without getting mad at me.

"jane, I'm subtracting 4 points off you for not answering my questions properly. Ya goofball."

Haha! What is properly? Would you like me to write a paragraph in response to every one of your questions? All you gotta do is ask, amigo ;)
But unghuh.... I hate losing points!!
