This is not at all like a poem, but its a rap
direct your questions to a chick, or a chap
" The devil's in the alley. the mule's in the stall
you can say what you want
    we've heard it all"
If you are looking for a chat
The Club is really where it's at.

Shameless self promotion plus evidence to the contrary... Nice

That sounds more like a statement than a question Noir, but I doubt if you will be penalized for spaming

If you have a mildly intelligent question ask it, but I'll let Kevin handle my light work

    Good night

    "Pointless thread... Don't you think?

Or should EOP and CCCP make their own thread too..."

It's fine with me if they make their own threads :) It's only one thread per club anyway... not like it adds up to a ridiculous amount. If the threads aren't successful, they'll fade into oblivion.
Ask a question please instead of analyzing other people's posts.

"Shameless self promotion plus evidence to the contrary... Nice"

Yeah, if you want some good conversation and activity, our club is the one ;)

I'm promoting my club AND I have pride... no shame here!

  • Noir

Never knew you could distinguish statement from question while reading my post through sound alone... Good work

But if we look at this thread... Wouldn't this be considered spam? But oops I forgot your elite club is famous for challenging the mods therefore it has a right to have its own ask thread... Lol

You just gotta laugh at the egotism and shameless promotion going on here... I know I am

If you have a mildly intelligent question ask it, but I'll let Kevin handle my light work"

Oh did I not ask it in my first post... Oh forgot that you're to busy analysing posts by sound...Lol

  • silvershoes

We're certainly not challenging the mods and I have no reason to believe that they think we are. If they do, I would ask them to kindly pm me and I will have a very civil, respectful conversation with any or all of them. No ill intentions here!

"Here's a question, if I like lots of chatter going on in a club.. What club should I join?"

Why ours of course, Jarred! Really though, I don't know what other club I would recommend. Ours is the only club I know - the only one I've been in :)
Good luck hunting, and keep in mind you're welcome to join us. Australians are great.

Yes they could do that if they saw themselves as a group rather than individuals in a group... They could actually do it... Plus they wouldn't want to put themselves as somehow better than any other club... But I guess for a group that likes to make themselves as challengers of the mods with witty no holds barred discussions something you just couldn't get on the main boards... you guys sure believe your own hype...Lol

I'm promoting my club AND I have pride... no shame here!"

Yes shame... This isn't the place to promote your own club... You don't see any other club advertising

I thank you for your opinion, Noir. It's kind of you to always share your thoughts with us, it means a lot that you go out of your way to do so. My genuine gratitude for your unconditional attention :)

  • silvershoes

Well I'm glad I can be helpful to you as you are helpful to me and my club :) What a good team we make!

I'll continue making it easy for you to post, and you continue to post to keep our thread at the top. Deal?

  • Noir

But your threads are already at the top before I even posted in it... So how can I make a deal for something I haven't contributed too...

Oh well... I will do my best, I'm sure your club right now is having great no holds barred discussions... Something we don't get here... Yes?

  • silvershoes

What happens in the club stays in the club ;) That's the unwritten code!

Oh Noiry-Noir, as much as I do love your attention and company, I am feeling a bit lonely without anyone else joining in. I'd like to meet some new blood.
So who's popped their head in this thread and not written anything? Don't be shy! Come on, I want to get to know you.

  • Kevin

I was chatting to Mr Nalley (Michael) about the club...I was rather shocked at his response.

"Man, Kevin the club is like all the clubs I never went to as a teenager, cause of..you know my prediliction for everyone to wear shellsuits with colours you'd never find on a rainbow, and you just don't get that where I grew up. Where did I grow up? In a dark basement Kevin...in dark freaky basement.

I did go out much in those day Kevin, preferring to read Mr Men books backwards whilst hanging from a meathook covered in baby lotion. I miss those days.

Anyway, that is what the club is to me, that is what it feels like".

    Stark reality.

  • Jordan

Wow...wayta sway the whole point of our thread, guys.
And I though that maybe, just maybe, we'd be able to stick to the guidelines.

  • silvershoes

How strange, I was talking to abby earlier today and she said something very similar about her early life - she grew up in an attic however, not a basement, and instead of baby lotion it was baby oil. But we also spoke of the club, she compared it to her nose, can you believe it?

"Shocking, hugely intimidating and even horrible to look at on the outside, but once you step inside and do a little exploring, you'll find all kinds of delicious, worthwhile goodies!"

A bit graphic really, but then again... It's abby. And she has a point.

  • Jordan

Abby makes The Club sound like Rob Zombie's "The Devil's Rejects." Which could be a good or bad thing.

It was a fantastic movie, I might add.

  • Noir

Oh Noiry-Noir, as much as I do love your attention and company, I am feeling a bit lonely without anyone else joining in."

Maybe its because of your shameless promotion...Lol

  • Jordan

Speaking of the Devil's Rejects, Sibyllene was once telling me about how interesting she found that movie.

"I have always found serial killers to be quite interesting. Their ruthlessness...their inability to follow through in life without any morality, doing the things they do without any rhyme or reason. It might be good to have one as a friend. I'm sure he'd defend you right 'til the end, you know?"

    Imagine that!

I have a quote here from Michael about this issue Bob.

"You know man, I'm not trying to rock the boat, because I love boats, I mean I think I was one of the animals Noah took on his boat...maybe like a Turtle or something..but Bob, poetry is alive like sexual energy..and you know, when I see a thread..sometimes I get all excited and it just flies out of me! I'm not trying to be bad, I want to be good..I want to be on the Ark...Bob, don't tell me I'm one of the animals that isn't aloud on board...I have so much...poetry to give"

    I hope this helps Bob.

I was talking to Kevin the other day and he said I should be carefull about posting silly raps in a discuss anything forum because my raps are so cool someone could mistake them for poems. He said the Church of Christ have nothing against standing for something they believe in but they don't for fear someone will think they are dancing

"come on, it's not that hard"
Is that what she said last night?

Do you know what class is? Class is when you are sitting in a room by your self and you fart and say excuse me.

    Excuse me

Does anyone else find it a little contradictory that you are forbidden to rhyme on a poetry site message board?

  • Noir

Does anyone else find it a little contradictory that you are forbidden to rhyme on a poetry site message board?"

Now er'one listen to Joe Doe here... Ofcourse it isn't contradictory, seeing as they're places where you can post poems... Even in clubs you can post poems... So posting a poem (Or in michael's case posting a poem wishing it could be even called rap) is against the rules because really you're spoiled with choice over the places you can submit your poems.

  • Kevin

I asked Michael the very same thing yesterday John...this is what he spat at me!

"Kevin man, like..Duh, it's like politics man, you are forbidden to vote for yourself...and religion, man you're forbidden to worship yourself....so what makes you think you silly kilt wearing buffoon of a snake charmers cousin, that you can BUSTA rhyme on poetry website? Hay?

I suppose you think it's ok to punch people at a Kung Fu movie? Hay Kev-O? You sack of green potatoes"

Michael and I are in relationship therapy.

  • sibyllene

Haha! Jordannnn! Way to take what I said way out of context. Now people think I'm a creepy creeper who likes creepers. I only said that in response to the PM you sent me last month. To be honest, your "hair shrine" kind of gave me the willies, but I'd rather have a serial killer on my side than against me, you know?

  • silvershoes

Well I for one agree that poetry should not be posted on the forums, simply because it's a rule that it should not - regardless if it's a ridiculous rule.
However, Abby disagrees with me. She's so upset about the whole thing that she won't even make an appearance on this thread. She gets irritable when she knows she has to bow down to authority. That's one thing you non club members are not missing out on - here foul temper and atrocious attitude. Every time she blows up it's like watching a spoiled baby throw a tantrum.

  • Michael D Nalley

Since me and Kevin are in relationship therapy
I would like to decline this opportunity for shameless self promotion

Though we agree that The Club is the first real club I can answer the question

How many clubs on the site have you been in?

How long have you been a member of P&Q?
    Probably too long
What was your very first P&Q s/n?
I'm not sure if Kevin wants his last name known though I KNOW IT
    I began with poetrymd
And what professional poet do you feel embodies your preference of such literature/ you the best?
Are we allowed to feel in these forums?

  • abracadabra

Hey Musicality, thanks for your excellent questions. Or, as Jane always says, "u da bomb girl!" Haha. Actually, I shouldn't laugh because I believe she said she's having her tongue warts removed today. Apparently it's very painful. To honour her absence, I'll answer for her as well.

How many clubs on the site have you been in?

Jane and I have only been in one club and it's THE CLUB. Jane is its creator and leader. I am thankful I wasn't part of it when it was originally named The Pretty Ponies Poetry Club. Youth is so fleeting.

How long have you been a member of P&Q?
Almost three years. About as long as Jane, actually. She became a loyal member as soon as she learnt to read.

What was your very first P&Q s/n?
Mine was abby. I seem to recall Jane's first was *I*heart*horses*and*ponies*foreva*, or something to that effect.

And what professional poet do you feel embodies your preference of such literature/ you the best?
In our club, Jane is always raving about someone called Smokey Joe. I believe he is contemporary American.

Female club members: Have you shared your poetry with any guys in school/ family/ circle of friends?
    I have.
    Jane only shares her farts.

I was going to take the rest of today off after getting my warts removed, but now I see Abby is here toughing it out after getting hers removed only yesterday... I can't be made to look like a wimp.
Oh wait, she just pm'ed me to say her period pains are too terrible to revise the answers she gave you about herself, Musicality, and she needs to go sit on the toilet for a while. She trusts me to go back right now and answer the questions in detail since we're such close friends and I have a better memory. I'll do my best.

"How long have you been a member of P&Q?"

As Abby said, 3 years, but she forgot to mention that the account was shared with her lesbian partner, Lisa, for the 2nd year up until 2 months ago when they split up and Abby changed the password. Now it's just Abby (again).

"What was your very first P&Q s/n?"

Ha! Obviously Abby has forgotten that her original P&Q s/n was her real name, Gladys. It didn't last long though, true, and for most of the last 3 years.. it's been abby.
Warning: Don't ever call her Gladys. She hates it!

"And what professional poet do you feel embodies your preference of such literature/ you the best?"

Funny, it looks like Abby forgot to answer this! She's probably embarrassed. She's always loved Illuminati's poetry and still feels they are poetic soul mates. I guess Illuminati isn't quite famous, but I can't think of who else she feels 'embodies her preference'.

"Female club members: Have you shared your poetry with any guys in school/ family/ circle of friends?"

Has she ever! Ha! She's writing up a new love poem for Kevin every day and posting it in our club. She's been doing it ever since ending things with Lisa.
