Depression

The word 'depressed' is so misused these days.
I constantly hear people using it as another word for sad or feeling a bit down.
    That is not depression.
Depression is a constant feeling of utter hopelessness.
Depression is laying in bed awake all night, having your mind continuously attack itself with horrible memories and thoughts.
It is more than just being sad every once in a while.
    It's excruciating.
And is something that I believe can only be truly understood by someone who has experienced it themselves..

    Anyone agree or disagree?

I agree 100%. Depression, like above, isnt just feeling sad every now and then, it is a severe feeling of hopelessness & that nothing will ever be okay etc. It can be caused by unbalanced chemicals in the brain, or things that have occurred in ones life. I understand what depression feels like, ive been suffering with it for years now. Just the other day my friend claimed to be depressed because she'd had a bad day at school...things like that annoy me, because depression is so much more intense then simply having a bad day every now and then, it ruins lives.. </3
