Well It depends really how he said it... I mean he may have just trying to be cool or he may have been taking the piss. Hopefully he was being honest however guts arent the greatest at admitting the truth. Have you told him you like him?

Tell him when he's with his mates that he's full of crap and if he want's to be with you he has to earn it. It doesn't just happen because he says so.

Personally if it was me I'd have nothing to do with him, sounds like it's all ego motivated posturing and everyone should know better.
