Edit...Don't think I can see this one through to 100...I tried to get you all participating...some may have thought it was childish but...two of my threads have already been closed being over 100 and..the wheel one will soon be the same I hope..anyway...I had fun...thanks to all who participated in my threads over the last few days...

You know ddavidd...I really try to understand your posts...sometimes I've thought you are taking the piss but...generally I've given you the benefit of my doubt...I was not trying to be great here...I was just trying to generate some participation from some members who seemed to be getting quite stagnant in their ways and...to a certain extend I think I succeeded...

I know exactly what you trying to do and I appreciate that. I would do the same if I could, But being the ugly duckling warts and all no body is really intoned with what I have to offer in this p&q generation , but I would never resort to "being popular" instead of contributing to something meaningful, either.
Remember once you called me pretentious. I wanted you to know the real meaning of us being pretentious. Believe it or not it is so easy for me to be a social butterfly in this place and surly believe this one : something in me really wants to. Though we love good topics where we all dive in and put in serious input, games are fun to switch it up too and get people chatting and laughing. I support that.

any way I agree with fun. My comment was in regard to differentiation between quality and quantity. Even by such abstract fact one could easily step on some ego's tail.

So the solution is not silence or avoiding this kind of discussions, for obviously no one has stomach for them. The solution is to EXERCISE this ability. without exercise our muscle go blank. The exercise also helps us to be able to walk the fine line between getting too angry and agitated in one hand and in the other the abstinence of confrontation and freely rejecting one another opinion. The lack of this ability and the fear of being confrontational has turned this site to a cemetery most of the time. members just come for play because it is safe and easy to do.
So our so called remedies are the part of the disease.

I think half of the people who caused problems are no longer here, and the ones that are here, have apologized, have grown up, and are busy with their lives (such as LP and Noura)..

Tara-Kay hit the nail on the head when she said those 'old' members have grown up and gotten busy, that it truly contributes to the inactivity.

I dont think we are fearful of confrontation as a site. In fact, though the sites been pretty inactive, I can recall a few times the last few months where we can consider the topic a 'hot topic', and we all commended one another for keeping it a very casual, smooth conversation.

Members come for play when its quiet around here. And its fun and a "boredom" killer. . but theres been a few topics posted thats been interesting.Theres been challenges...So I dont think its safe and easy, its just fun and different from our writing activities and other topics.

if this is true and we do not have the fear of confrontation why did you said in the beginning: " why the hostility?"?? Which part of our conversation, me and Hellon, specially from my part, seemed hostile to you? That respond goes exactly to my argument of the lack of stomach: as soon as two members get in to some disagreement others jump in and say things like this.

I disagree: the biggest part of the problem was the last generation of mods. ((haha maybe because they did not have Godfather)) they got rid of all the members, trying to sterilize this site to an insane level of sanitation. They censored threads, posts... they made so many angry. I remember every time that I signed in, there use to be above hundred members in. I had poem read by more then 10,000 people (so many of them). There was a poet named Addle, he use to have 50 to 100 comment in every poems he posted.
I remember mods use to be very confrontational and lots of times in the middle of argument all the sudden you found yourself suspended even though it was them who were abusive. Sometimes( and that really use to get on my nerves) they deleted your post or even suspend your account and then answer you and attack you one way road.
My believe is they scared off so many free spirited folks and kept the obedient ones. I know they got also rid of so many bad weeds but in doing so they became so agitated and jaggedly edgy, they cut away so many awesome blossoms. I know of people who would never come back even if I plead them to come and check my poems and assure them about the changes.
