Has Cancer Affected You?

I just wondered who here has had their lives affected by Cancer in someway. This could be either a friend or family member has had the disease or maybe you have had it? Any way that it has affected you.

So how has it affected me? I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in May this year (aged 18 years and 10 months).

cancer affects alot of people, its becoming so common these days, and yea my life has been affected by it. sorry to hear about your diagnosis, hope you have all the support you need.
if ya wanna talk about it dont hesitate to pm. thats what we all here for too.

cancer has affected me also....my great uncle was recently diagnosed with cancer of the colon....the cancer is also in his lymph nodes.....

but they cant do any treatment yet, they want him to get stronger before they do....

he had surgery on his colon and the cut is from his groin all the way up about the middle of his stomach.....and he cant eat until his colon heals....and he cant get up and walk around.....so its going to be a a while until he even starts treatment......

A very close friend of my family died in March from cancer! I posted a couple of poems about her.
About 2 months ago, my aunt who practically raised me was diagnosed with colon cancer! Luckily they were able to remove it all...I think she's still gonna have chemo just in case!
My best friends mother's cancer has been in remission for 5 or 6 years!
Cancer is in everyone's lives one way or another....Holly

My father died from lung cancer on christmas
and my grandfather from lung cancer on my birthday

My grandfather died from cancer and my aunt has breast cancer...So yes it has affected me.

It is a shame to see that so many people have been affected by Cancer in one way or another. This may sound corny, but I hope one day we will be able to find a cure.

My gran had cancer in her throat.. and my mum is fighting it now..

my great uncle died of lung cancer...
my 21 year old cousin just got over leukemia (sp?)...
my great grandma died of lung cancer....
and there are heaps of other people in my family who have died of some type of cacner.....

Nici I'm so sorry that you have cancer.
My Grandma died of breast cancer about 3 years ago. It was the worst time of my life.

Yes my Aunt Maggie she was such sweet ,and loving person she died of lung cancer when I was thirteen.

My Grandma, Grandpa, and other Grandpa have all died of Cancer. My mom was diagnosted with Breast Cancer, but they managed to cut the cancer out early, so she's ok. And, according to my doctor I have a high risk of skin cancer, and if I get a bad skin burn again, it will be "developing".

hey everyone will u please pray for my great uncle....i spoke about him earlier in this thing towards the top....

as i said he has the cancer....and hes like 83...and now they think that he has internal bleeding....

would yall please pray for him?? id really appreciate it...it would mean alot to me...thanks!

my aunt is ill with it at the current time, but she has it before and surivived it, but they said this time it might be different and if she is suppost to die this time, that she only has 6 months to a year to live :( i love my aunt and i would hate to lose her, i just hope she makes it this time

ps: and and ill pray for your great uncle i know how hard this cancer thing is

they just called my great aunt and my grandpa into the hospital a few mins ago....so i have no idea whats going on...

but thank u for keeping us in ur thoughts!!

my grandfather died on March 29, 1998 (4:50 a.m.) from Melnoma... i know its not Breast Cancer but it is the deadliest form of skin cancer...i miss him alot but i cherish the time i did have with him

again Nici, i hope that you get well and if you ever want to talk i am here for you (that sounds kinda weird to say since you are older than me but i mean it)

Cancer is something that is very hard to deal with and go through. My Mom had liver Cancer, diagnosed Oct. 1995. I watched her struggle going through Chemo... and all the sickness that comes from that, but she fought a tough battle. I finally lost her March of 1997. She lived 17 months after being diagnosed. It's not only bad on the victim but it is also so hard for the family. This was one of the worst experiences in my life that I had to go through with my Mom. None of us knows what tomorrow holds in store for us or what we may have to go through. So live life to the fullest and appreciate each day that God gives us. hugs, love, Ann
