After we hit 18 posts with at least 12 poems,I will judge. I have a co-judge just in case I can't make up my mind. Just post your #1 poem you can make up right now. I like sad, magical, depressed poems just as much as poems on love and pain.

RULES:7 *STANZAS* AT THE MOST,2 PARAGRAPHS MINIMUM
1st,2nd,3rd prizes only, plus Kristi's and Layla's pick. :) No rude slang or too-explicit things though. After all, most of us don't like things that r too rude. (no offence cuz i kinda like some things but others r just nerve racking)

No flamez on certain ppl either. Please have some poems that are worth the challenge. THANKS!

So write on! (get it? pretty cheesy..)

*just so you know they are called stanzas!!!

    When it spills-

You’re like any other, just shove it down
    go on and wonder why…
but You’ll never cry, or show Your pain.
    Your scares remain…
so many form the last rain.

it was that long ago, You let her hand go.
And now spilling to the surface,
    With out her,
how do You plan to cope?

have You lost her? Your love
or did You not even love her… Your lust?
do You understand what she had done?
    could You comprehend the fear?

she was terrified You’ll leave her…
    she was terrified You wouldn’t.
    the uncertainty, the unknowing
is to much for her now…

those eyes are there, looking at You.
as You allow it to come spilling out.
    ask Yourself why now…
    just ask Yourself why…

Here follows "The Fate of a Dreamer":

To never be happy and never find peace,
a constant longing that never will cease.
To dream of a life with all that you need,
to never possess that for which you would bleed.

To love someone truly, whose heart is not yours
To dream of the stars above other shores
To forever search for a divine redeemer.
That, they say, is the fate of a dreamer.

But I am a dreamer, and once I had peace.
I did feel that longing, but one day it ceased.
The life that I dreamt of was the one i possessed.
And all I would bleed for was for her to feel blessed.

I loved someone truly, whose heart was then mine
And within her eyes I saw a thousand stars shine.
But one day she left me, my beloved redeemer,
that, my friend, is the fate of a dreamer.

    Autumn Leaves (Resurrection)

Dripping down from all the trees,
    Life personified by autumn leaves,
Bright, bold colours served to please,
    Before they're eaten by disease.

One last show to please the eye,
Before they shrivel up and die,
    Their beauty cannot be denied,
Through the air we watch them fly.

Floods of colour where they lay,
    Slowly fades as they decay,
    Resurrected come next May,
    Reborn to see another day.

If I decay will I come back?
Full of colour or dressed in black?
    Autumn leaves hide my tracks,
A victim, of my own attack,
    Another sweet surrender.

    Cheers

On The Wings of Paradise--Renee Lounsbury

    Standing alone
    on the wings of paradise
    music surrounds me
not an evil soul in sight

I feel at peace with myself
    but it won't last long
    because being alone
    comes with a hefty bond

    I remember that empty feeling
    but I'm pushing it away
I want to enjoy this flight
    on the wings of paradise

as a slight breeze whisks across my face
    softer than my lovers embrace
    I hold onto this feeling
a feeling of warmth and familiarity

I don't wish for this to go away
but It's too good to last
    these wings of paradise
    found in my secret stash

and as the last of the ashes
    fall to my bedroom floor
    the music fades
and these wings are no more.

    Children Need Our Love

    Children are a special gift
    from The Lord above
He's trusted us to care for them
    and shelter them with love
    we need to hug them
and tell them we love them
    each and every day
let them know we're there for them
and listen to what they say
We need to make time for them
maybe put them before something else
What do parents think now days?
    That children can raise themselves?
    What could be more important
    than raising our children right
what we instill in them right now
will remain with them for life.
so many children are reaching out
    just longing to be loved
while their parents are out partying
or somewhere strung out on drugs
I can't explain how my heart breaks
when I hear these children's prayers
all they want is their parents love
they need to know they care
    Parents please love your children
and make time for them each day
Don't leave any room for regrets
when they are grown and gone away.

    Remember When

Do you remember the things long past
    when everything was new
the past when all your role-models were
just belle, snow white, or pooh?

remember the only books you read
    were by the Dr. Seuss
and how you had ignorance to things
    like rape or child abuse

remember when "shut up" was bad
    like "heck" and "nasty" too?
    remember how naive you were
    when everything was true

    remember things that frightened you
    like monsters under your bed
remember when you wouldn't kiss lips
    but butterfly kisses instead

Remember when your pal Barney was cool
unlike now when he's a dork
or when you just loved to believe
that babies came from a stork

remember when all kids had cooties
    everyone but you
    remember when you didn't worry
    about dates and cerfew?

do you remember these days, i say
you'd be smart if you think i'm right
when i say you need to treasure those times
those past and out of sight

~i'm going to revise this before i submit it.. so.. if you read it later.. don't think i'm plagerizing or anything!~

Oopps, lol i commented on the poems that were my favorite, but i thought they would be put with the poem themselves sorry my mistake. Well just to be fair lets say you guys were all awesome! But heres my opinion:
1st: Criminal Masterminds and Autumn Leaves
    2nd: Rainy Nights
3rd: On the Wings of Paradise

And i couldn't decide if i liked "Fate of a Dreamer" or "A dreamers perspective" more so i just give them both 4th place!

Besides that, u all did excellent poems! Congrats to you all!

Children need our love went out to me because I know all about that stuff,my mom works for child abuse (but shes a hypocritte) and I know the pain . besides that whenever i look at a kid whos really small and cute/funny and I want my future kids to be like that.

Remember when still rings in my ears because when I was little I watched all of those shows. I was so hooked on learning things, until kindergarten when they said it wasnt cool.

Rainy nights just makes me want to be free because all my life I want to leave! I just want to be let out of my cage!

Wings of paradise speaks out because its like a dream when I just try to feel peace and be calm at last.

Dreamers perspective is pretty cool for me because, well,I'm a dreamer! (My disney twin is Cinderella)

Criminal masterminds-The world is always turning me into something I don't see myself as. They destroy my dreams but I just can't let them take me.

Scared relates to me because I'm always trying to die, beleive it or not. Even the smile on my face was fake at school, every single day. I was forced to hang out with goths after a month of depression, where I just got more depressed because I learned about cutting and stuff.
I'm okay now and not gothic. I'm proud of that and it helps me.
