poems have meaning?

I belive it to man!!! Poems can sometimes be the only way to express yourself.

i know that some live in their poems... my friend wrote about when her dad use to abuse her... and how scared she was... the poems that some write about their life is like a biography... dont u agree?

Meaning - if your poems don't have a meaning or a point why write?

Mine have different meanings and often very open to interpretation, but more than anything they mean something to me...thats all that matter really. If others can read my stuff and get peace, an understanding or even better understand my meaning and intent then I am a satisfied writer...

yea, poems are written from some personal experiance and there are other poems that are written just because that's what people want to say without knowing what's it's like to be in that possition, but there's not really a right or a wrong answer to expressing yourself, it's just there, and everyone does it.... what you write may not be about you or it may not have happened to you, but the way you say it is really what counts, I guess

I can write poetry from other people's point of view. However, most of my poetry tends to be from experience.
