The better alternative is to download from one of the legal sites where you pay small fee like $1 per song. The biggest complaint about CD's is that you pay $15 or so to get one or two songs you like. The rest may be songs you wouldn't even care to listen to.

Yeah I know it's illegal but people see it like this:

A box of 50 blank CDs are about £10. ONE album CD is about £15. So if you were to buy 15 albums with songs you like on there, it would cost you £750. Why pay the extra £740?

If your downloading without paying for it, that illegal. How would you like it if someone stole your poetry? I think you would not, it's basically the same thing.

I Think That Its Good For Personal Use But I Think The Artist Who Put Out Cd's That Aren't Getting Any Money Or Feed Back From Them Because Everyone Is Downloading (That Gets Kind Of Unfair) So I Agree That Its Moraly Wrong But If Its Illegal Why Are We Still Permited To Download??! xoxo-Nikki-xoxo

    Nikki,

There will always be people looking for loopholes in the law and also people to exploit such loopholes by producing programms to download stuff.

In the country that I'm living (Hong Kong), people have been caught for such unauthorised downloading as infringement of copyright, they have been fined and sent to jail. By downloading something which is not yours and for which you have not legally paid for you are stealing intellectual property.

    Nikki,

No I Don't Think So, America Is Way More Advanced And Smarter Than Most Countrys, I Don't Know What You've Heard, But You Heard Wrong, Limewire Is Still Accepted In America

    Copyright Infringement:
Copyright laws and laws pertaining to patents and inventions protect original works of authorship and inventions. Individuals who reproduce, distribute copies, receive copies, publicly perform or display works or inventions other than their own and without the consent of the owners or holders of rights, or their authorized agents, in original works of authorship or inventions, may be in violation of copyright (IN OTHER WORDS THIS IS SAFE FOR PERSONAL USE BY LAW, UNLESS YOU TRY AND SALE THESE PEOPLE'S MUSIC)

Sorry to say, that being advanced has absolutely nothing to do with copyright infringement. If you think that it is not going on in the good old US of A then you are seriously mistaken!

It's not a matter of thinking it is illegal, if you do not own the cd or have previously paid to dl the track or tracks then it IS illegal.

Thinking of which I'm in a sh#t load of trouble should the FBI look towards the UK, good job they're internal.

    Bret,

External affaris belong to CIA but I don't think it's part of their incumbent duties. Any laws in UK about internet downloading of copyrighted materials?

You know CIA could stand for Copyright Infringement Assassins!

Yurp, know all about the CIA and FBI, which is why I'm glad the FBI won't be knocking on my door.

The CIA are just a bunch of bastards though...

I've just been black flagged and my house will be raided tomorrow morning at dawn.

I Was Anserwing 2 Questions, Steven Your Opinions On America Is Worth No More Than Your Opinions On Child Birth To Me, I Feel It Was a Stupid Comment That Could Have Been Kept xoxo-Nikki-oxox

You have your opinions and I have mine. To bad you are getting ticked off becuase somebody else also has their opinions and a freedom of speech. BTW, freedom of speech is something which has made America so great.

Nikki. Sorry love, but you're dead wrong, sales has nothing to do with it. If you download a tune and haven't paid for it you have received an artist's property without permission and are therefore in breach of said copyright.

And just to back up my ex-pat mate, not that he needs it in any way shape or form, being advanced means nothing what so ever.

    Shiky dear,

This is not an argument, it is a debate, an intelligent discussion and not meant to offend anyone. If anyone has been offended, fine apologies are due.

But it was never meant to offend, just a subject for debate and exchange of views and opinions, that's all.

Oh, and by way of example, Nikki, I refer you to having the worlds most advanced army and still getting your butt handed back to you on a crayon decorated paper plate by the Viet Cong.

    Cheers Steve

And yes, Shik, still arguing and still loving it. I can argue and debate at the same time. I'll even make the tea and hand out the biscuits.

    Nikki,

If you felt that I have offended you in any way by my previous opinions, I am truly sorry!

I was not trying to take a crack at the USA, merely pointing out the fact that copyright violations take place everywhere and are not limited to anyone place. That's all.

I respect your opinions, but I also look at other facts and view points also.

    Nikki,

I understand, I also have cousins involved!

Yes we are in the same club, so I think we can speak openly and frankly to each other without taking it to heart.

Shiky, put a sock in it! Your trying to wind everyone up!

Not being funny but I was referring to the Vietnam war, not Iraq, Nikki.

I'm a retired soldier myself and I have nothing but respect for those who gave their life, will give their lives and those who are prepared to give their lives for their country.
