I don't want him to die.

I know it's hard, but remember if he does end up passing away he will be free from the pain of having brain damage etc.
Grieve for him if he does, don't hold it all in, it's ok to hurt.
But most of all have faith, believe in that no matter how small it is, there's a chance he could live. Keep him in your prayers and if it's meant to be, it will be ok.
