Anyone Else A Fan And Seeing It Soon?

  • Lydie

I'm not... I haven't seen the last two movies and the first one wasn't very exciting... So I guess no.

But two of my friends are heaps excited and we actually have the day of school and that's when it comes out.. My friend almost started crying. They're dressing up and everything.

But no, I'm not excitied, I guess I don't see all the fuss.

Yeah i saw it and it sucked.

Far too rushed, hectic plot and not in a good way.

And the new dumbledore is awful.

But Do You Think It Would Have Been A Good Movie If You Had Never Read The Book?

OO i saw it today w/ my fellow Harry Potter nerd friend. It wasn't as bad as it could've been. The end was like amazing, they nailed it. but the begging was a little messed up. The whole thing moved a little too fast (like the graveyard seen- he didnt have to dodge any curses- and you never actually saw him grad cedric's body or the triwizard cup) to get emotianally involved. But it was still very good.

Whenever Dumbledore talks, I get goosebumps. Although I did prefer Richard Harris played Dumbledore's part, he's now dead and it pains me to admit that....

But over all it was pretty good. I did think it was FAR FAR FAR too rushed. But it was good with funny parts in the midst of all the drama. Comic relief was common, which was good or else I would have just burst out in tears from all the emotions....

It wasn't BAD, like some of you overexaggerate, but it definately was a let-down compared to the book.

THEN AGAIN, I am a book dork. But I'm also a Daniel Radcliffe-Die-Hard-Fan.

Ok, I LOVE Harry Potter, and this is my FAVE. book of the series and the movie was a TOTAL let-down. I saw it yesterday and well, i dunno...they rushed it a LOT and misse dout FAR too much of the good stuff. And...I dunno if anyone else noticed this but I felt So disconnected from the characters, like in the book you see the humane side of them. here- you barely even focus on the characters. Like youre supposed to sympathise with them when 'someone' (so I dont ruin it for those who havent read the book) dies, you dont feel symapthy for them at ALL cause you barely get to know them in the movie! And Im sorry but I cant STAND the God-awfulnes sof Daniels acting, i really really cant! His 'crying' scene...PLEASE...

I mean it was IMO the best movie out of the ones so far but a TOTAL let-down compared to the book.

Im not too excited about movie 5...Harry bugs me beyond belief in that book!

I hate harry potter with a passion.

I have seen the 2nd and 3rd movies and hated them both, i flat out refuse to watch this one, because i know it will be just as bad.

The movies are nothing special, and i have many gripes over the plots to all the films. What really annoys me is how they make the whole story so simple. It's like they want stupid people to watch it and feel clever because they figured someing out... Well i sat there totally bored because after 30-40 minutes i could make an easy educated guess as to the rest of the plot and figure out most of the twists.

ok i've seen it and HARRY'S HAIR IS WAY WAY WAY TOOOLONG AND NOT COMBED OR ANYTHING IT BUGGED ME THE WHOLE DAMN MOVIE! ok anyways ron was sooo hot.. the movie is the best one so far but the idiots who made the movie left out dobby and winky....HOW COULD ANY ONE LEAVE OUT AWESOME LITTLE WINKY? grrrrr i really didn't like Cedric he was supposed to be this nice guy that everyone loved and he was popular and stuff but he wasn't supposed to come off as totally conceded which is how he came off to me. i really loved the way they did Voldemort though that was a total bullseye i think. they way he looks and everything was awesome i loved voldemort and the yule ball that was pretty cool too but i wish they wouldn't rush the damn movie because eventually things are going to get really confusing if they keep doing that and DOES HARRY NOT KNOW ANY MORE SPELLS THAN THAT STUPID EXPELIARMUS? OMFG that is pretty much the only thing he said in the movie and it was really bugging me. he is a fourth year so i'm sure he knows more than expeliarmus so lets give him some credit please! did Hermione seem a bit disgruntled through like the WHOLE movie? i mean she was mad and yelling the whole time. yea she was supposed to be like that some of the time accourding to the book but come on hermione is nicer than that. one last thing i think Victor Krum was ugly. ok i'm done

They had to leave stuff out from the book because if they hadn't the movie would have been the length of TWO movies, which I understand... Titanic... Braveheart... great movies, but still thats a little much. THey were trying to focus on the main story. I loved it. I was so excited to watch it.... because I am a loser haha.

Amanda, Harrys hair was no longer than Rons.

I saw it today, and although it was a great movie, it was WAY too rushed. I only watched it 'cause I have a thing for Malfoy lol. The book is so much better.

I'm reading a book called "The Element Encyclopedia of Witchcraft" and it makes many referrals to the Harry Potter books.
One of the main ones is about Harry's unruly hair. It is said to be a physical trait of a witch/warlock. That's probably why they emphasize that so much.

The movie was alot better than I expected. I've read all six books and The Goblet of Fire is my favorite. So I was really dreading the movie release. I didn't think it would do the book justice, but they did better than I thought they would.

I saw it yesterday, yeah where was Harry's Wronski Feint with the dragon after seeing Krum do it in the Quidditch match? And what happened to Winky - Crouch's elf - being framed for the dark mark. And what happened to Harry giving Fred and George his winnings to start a joke shop at th eend of the triwizard tournament??? Overall I was disappointed, especially as Dobby wasn't in it either!!!! I think it pretty much SUCKED!

  • Truest Lies

    Well, thanks for the spoiler.

I was thinking of going to see it, maybe getting it on DVD, or just renting it.
I didn't like the last Harry Potter that much. It was kind of weird. Anyway, the first two were better in that they were cuter and had better effects, for instance the brooms, and of course Dobby was a great character.

But I can still think of better movies to see.

Bad stuff:The start was rushed, stuff was missed out, the new dumbledore sux.

Good stuff: The dragon (wow!) and other graphics ect...

Conclusion: This was my fave movie so far.

The books: I hated the last one. Did anyone else feel that JK is becoming too influenced by fanfictions ect...it was dull. The fourth book is one of my faves however and I feel the film did do it credit. To an extent at least.

I agree with you that they messed up a lot of stuff, I mean cutting out Dobby and Winky. But remember, having movies can not only enhance our understanging of the book, see someone elses perspective, and bring in more people that will get interested in the series. I mean, what would you rather do, go see a movie, or spend days (weeks if your like me) reading the book. Most people will probably read the book after they see the movie
