Why would the Piru care what happens to Tookie? By his own admission, he did commit murder, just not these murders. It is still reputed that he maintains control of the Crips, as founder and OG. Apparently, the Governor feels that rehabilitation will happen right after rigor mortis, in this case.

Unfortunately in America you get the justice you can afford. Is it right? No! But, it is what it is. If you can afford a legal dream team, you will not die, much less do time. If you cannot afford the best lawyers money can buy, hello death row. The system is flawed. If it were a perfect system, Ted Kennedy would be right with him for what he did. However, it is the system we have. Instead of protesting each case, the last few months, weeks or days, set about changing the system now, so that the system dispenses JUSTICE instead of JUST US.

one more thing if he is a changed man why would his so called family and friends being gang members riot and kill to avenge his death when that is what he is so against now.

Niki, to espeak in response to your second post, I am not worried about anybody rioting over tookie's death. Here is why: he is the founder of the crips, big deal. Why am I not fearful of them rioting, because as long as I stay lawful I have the biggest gang and organized syndicate that will be out on the streets protecting me. It is called the U.S. government. They are the biggest gang in the world. Don't you think if they had wanted to wipe out the bloods and the crips they could have a long time ago? He pleaded not guilty to the four people they tried him for killing, but admitted to having murdered people, just not the four during the 2 bank robberies. And Bob, I know the CIA keeps the crips and the bloods in business, and drugs, cause it brings in money for them. And niki, no, I would not be surprised if you showed e every corrupt officer or official that took kick backs from these people. But, the government would step in if people started rioting. We have a machiavellian government. But it works, not the best, but it works. And yes I agree with what arnold schwarznegger said. As writers we all know how easy it is to manipulate words and write about stuff we don't neccessarily follow ourselves. But the man did not show remorse or change in attitude, despite showing it in his books. Even if he did change it doesn't matter anymore because he is dead.
