Can anything be done?

What happened to constructive comments? What happened to comments at all? I'm getting like 2 comments per poem that are either friends or people saying "great poem, thanks for commenting on mine" or "that was deep" and things like that and i know i'm not the only one. It would be great to see real and constructive comments because this site is turning chaotic. People vote ones to get others down to make themselves feel better, and id like to see how many people actually READ the poems with the kind of comments you get. Can we do anything?

Ismail, self interest is essentially what drives the world. And that is not necessarily a bad thing.

I have always noticed that poems depicting the darker side of life attract the most attention here. It's almost guaranteed. That includes the most morbidly depressing poems about suicide, rape, child abuse, incest or physical abuse and cutting. Apparently there are many more people here who define their lives in terms of human torment, cruelty and self destruction than with the positive values in life. That's just from my observation.

Although of course, cheering up once in a while never did anyone harm.
