I do not find anything wrong with them, and I've not tried to damage yours. Perhaps I've proven them wrong, though. I hope you have the maturity to not let that anger you, if that is so.

I know what my eyes tell me. My dad has been to all those fancy colleges and universities, though, and he knows that they are not very good at all.

No, I think it's fine that my friends care, and I think that God considers it fine, too.

    Okay, goodnight.

I found out that there are a lot more meat-eaters than vegetarians, and in a way I respect that you have stuck to your opinions.

We all see things differently, and we all fight because of that.

    Peace.

I give you kudos for that. Well said.

"Put yourself in a forest in nature, with a lion, and we'll see who eats."

No thank you, that would probably kill me, which is no fun. And I don`t see why you even mention that.

"If it wasn't for this unnatural civilization surrounding us we wouldn't have the means to hunt."

Oh really? Then how come we have had the means to hunt and even wipe out entire species before this unnatural civilization ever came? I wonder...

"I strongly believe that animals have a soul, and that it is wrong to eat them"

Good for you, but know that, by saying such, you prove that you have no idea how to debate, and that there is no point in debating with you. You scorn all those who do not share your belief.

How would you like that I made fun of your god?

    "Would you eat your dog?
    Your cat?"

Oh My God....OF COURSE NOT. Why the **** would I do that? Are you completely out of your mind? I would never eat my cat. Do you want to know why?

Because I am very fond of my cat.

    That`s why.

What the **** do even mention that? And don`t dare to say that its the same, to eat your cat and to eat a completely random cow.

"Your're killing and eating an innocent piece of beauty.

I am aware that something must die in order for me to eat. But such is nature, and whatever faith you have, you must accept that we are a part of nature, and that nature is cruel and brutal.

"Animals are too pure, too feeling and majestic to be reduced to a piece of steak"

You should thank your forefathers for not sharing that belief, you wouldn`t have been here had they not had meat to eat.

    "If McDonald's"

Don`t bring Mcdonalds into this, I hate them, and will do whatever it takes to stop them from doing what they do. I never eat there.

"Oh, and if you don't care about the animal, then think about this.
Did you know that thousands of animals are pushed into horridly small pens and mal-treated, under/force fed, fed hormones and other chemicals, then brutally killed, skinned, sometimes while still alive and shipped off to be made into foods that are filled with additives."

We don`t do that over here, we have laws on how animals are to be treated. I cannot see how this has anything to do with me.

"I wonder if you see every animal you've ever eaten in heaven--right, you don't even believe in that..
Or are you scared of that"

I am not scared, and I do not believe in that.

And for gods sake, stop making this a discussion involving your precious god. I don`t believe in him.

    Learn how to debate.

Discussion are to be based upon FACTS.

In the past we have hunted, true. But as our civilization grows, now we hunt more and more. It is true, that we should, instead of raising animals on expensive grains, we should stop raising them for food and feed what would have fed them to the people who really need it, all the war stricken countries that are starving.

"I strongly believe that animals have a soul, and that it is wrong to eat them"

Saying that, I was stating an opinion, but naturally you immediately believed that I was scorning you?
What is wrong with my opinion?
I never thought that just because I stated what I really felt that it would sound like I was scorning everyone, or pushing my beliefs on them.

If you truly believe in something, truly, then I don't think it even remotely possible that I would be able to change that with a few sentences, which is why I don't understand why I am being attacked.

A plant does not feel, and think, and react, and love.
    Animals do.

Ever seen a plant start to run, or cringe, or smile?
Animals have a way of doing that. Plants are growths...can you prove that they feel "pain" the way an animal does?

They don't have a soul, though.

I'm sorry to say that to me you are unable to prove a point.

Well, thanks for trying, anyway. Really.

And Merry Christmas to all who are still reading through this storm.

(Wow, the only way to pass 100 posts is to start bickering. Pity.)

God gave us plants to eat, but he gave us animals to look after.

We are allowed to take from the land, but it is my choice to not kill animals, because they have shown so much love, dignity, beauty and compassion that I find it wrong to eat them.

Plants have their own beauty, but they do not have a soul, or humane feelings.
If you step on a thorn the plant will not see your pain, have mercy and retreat the thorn from your flesh, or have any feelings abour your pain, while if you step on the outstretched claw of an animal the animal will either have mercy of you, or have anger or fear towards you.

I don't mind eating plants because they do not have a soul..

We DO need to eat plants to survive, even if we ate all meat and no plants, we'd still die, but we can survive on all plants and no meat, and we are healthier for it. Doesn't that say something?

My choice to be a vegetarian is in a way related to my belief in God.

"Happy Hanukkah" to you too. If it's the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, or based on God, it's fine with me.

A long time ago God asked us to give sacrifices, but they are not necessary any more because Jesus already gave the biggest sacrifice of all.
-And animals are ours to look after, that if we must eat them, then at least let them live happily before hand. Animals are stuffed into sheds, where they are raised badly, then killed unmercifuly. Perhaps you live in a state where they raise animals in organic paddocks, giving them room to roam and be free, and then kill them humanely. I hope you do, but I don't, and so I choose not to eat the animals who have suffered so badly.

Perhaps not completely plants, but certainly if we added nuts and legumes and grains, which are a type of plant, we would survive, probably much healthier than with meat.

I eat fish because I believe that they have not suffered in stuffy sheds, and they are also organic.
Lately I have cut out a lot of my fish intake. I think it would be somewhat of a shock to cut out all meats at once, but with time I would like to.

I decided to close this topic because it was turned into an argument, and not a discussion.
The moderator lockes the topic, I merely stated that it was quite useless, and that I, the creator of the thread, had no wish for it to continue.

Despite going off the original point, to me its Yule. WHICH IS NOT TO DO WITH CHRISTIANITY. Its the pagan festival.
